A Cruise on Bojo River, Aloguinsan | Backpacking Philippines

A Cruise on Bojo River, Aloguinsan

Monday, November 12, 2012 ?My Nomadic Habits ? Bojo river cruising is not really a part of our itinerary since our plan on that day was just to celebrate Aaron's birthday at the Hidden Beach Resort, but someone including me insisted to try Bojo river cruising since we were already in Aloguinsan. After lunch we left Hidden Beach Resort, and realized that we need to take a long walk going to the highway. Fortunately, we found a guy cleaning his multicab and we took advantage of asking if he can bring us to Bojo River which he immediately affirmed.?

Bojo River is about 230 meters from the highway. There is not any form of vehicle that could take you to the reception center, but walking. Need not to worry about getting exposed to intense heat of the sun because the trail is covered with trees and some cold spring. There are also?signages?that would lead you to the Bojo river reception center.

After a few minutes of eco-tramping, you will be greeted by Aloguinsanon in green uniform with a pleasing smile. They offered as a river tour for PHP300/head and the entire tour would take approximately 3 hours and depending on the tide. We tried to haggle the price, but then realized that a certain amount of the money that we shell out would go to the families of these fishermen operating Bojo river tour. So we agreed with the price and start the tour. Non-swimmers need not to worry because live vest will be given to each guest for safety purposes.?

Bojo river tour is not only eco-friendly, but educational as well. The fishermen guides are well-informed about the river, and their municipality in general. They can even identify each floras and faunas that you passed by during the river cruise. Bojo river is also a good spot for bird watching. In fact, they built a 400-meter boardwalk for this.?

How to get to Bojo River

You can take a bus bound for Toledo (PHP60) at Cebu South Bus Terminal and travel time is approximately 1.5 hours. You can also take a van bound for Toledo (PHP100) at Citilink. From Toledo City, there are multicab bound for Aloguinsan. Then take a tricycle (PHP15) bound for Bojo River.?For bookings and reservation you may directly contact Aloguinsan Tourism Office at +63-32-469-9312
